Dr. Beatrix Burghardt is invited to tailor a workshop to CeLCAR authors and textbook developers, using content that we are currently working on. This will be a workshop customized for us and for our projects.
It is scheduled for two hours this week on Friday, October 22, beginning at 1:30PM and ending at 3:30PM. This will be an in-person workshop in Room GA4067, and we will also make it available to developers outside of Bloomington via Zoom.
Abstract:
This workshop reviews principles of language material development derived from second language acquisition research. Taking a broad interpretation of materials, we will examine texts and activities specifically designed for asynchronous learning environments. Through group discussions, we will analyze commercially available materials to explore how they align with principles of material design. Through critical reflection, developers will evaluate their own materials to identify ways for future improvement.
We look forward to seeing all of you at this workshop!
