The Conference on Central Asian Languages and Linguistics (ConCALL) was established in Spring 2014 as a scholarly research and professional development conference for linguists and language educators specializing in the languages of Central and Western Asia. ConCALL brings together specialists working on both the Altaic and Eastern Indo-European language families, as well as other language groups represented in the region.
The conference promotes research and collaboration on a wide range of languages, including Azerbaijani, Dari, Kazakh, Kurdish, Mongolian, Pashto, Persian, Tajiki, Tibetan, Turkish, Tuvan, Uyghur, and Uzbek, as well as Armenian and Georgian. ConCALL also highlights work on endangered and lesser-studied languages such as Buryat and Kalmyk (Mongolic), Shugni (Iranian), Selkup (Uralic), and Chuvash, Bashkir, and Yakut (Turkic).
